Personal Statement
Elizabeth Kaitlin McBeth Thompson, born July 30, 1978 in Spokane, Washington. Grew up in a family driven to experience as much of life possible, in the shortest amount of time. This includes, but is not limited to sports, music, raising goats and horses, gardening, African drumming around the backyard campfire, highland dancing...or even spending countless snowy days with my father on the side of a random, mountain pass highway, selling tire chains that came with a complimentary cup of hot cocoa. Graduated from Montanan's Carroll College with a B.A. in Psychology. Currently living in Seattle, Washington with husband Nathan Thompson M.D., and our son Oliver, both of which are my driving force. Nathan and I met in kidergarten...the rest is history. My love for cycling was inspired by my husband's fanatical sport of Mountain Biking. He challenged me to be a rough rider, to suck up the blood sweat and tears, and even broken bones for the love of the sport. After racing cross-country for several years and enjoying success in the amateur ranks, I was able to transfer much of my training and skill from the trail to the road. Subsequently, my love affair with the sport of triathlon began. Triathlon has become the expression of my emotional and bodily strength. The provision of self-confidence and accomplishment the Lord has given me through triathlon has become a platform to inspire those who are still searching for confidence in their own lives.
